A little taste of CAT

I was invited to a friends 19th birthday party, and knowing he loved cats, this is what I brought to the party. This picture is from a while ago. I baked vanilla cupcakes, and added lemon rind to give them that refreshing taste. Because he loves cats I decided to put all the cupcakes together and create a cat.

He loved it - and the night ended in a cupcake fight..

Happy 19th Eddie!

Baking an Apple Crisp

 Baking an apple crisp! Simply peel enough apples to fill the baking dish you'll be using. Then remove the core, and slice into about half and inch width slices. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on the apples, and put two teaspoons of butter throughout the apples. The sprinkle an apple crisp topping over the apples until they're fully covered. Then place in the oven at 350 degrees for 30-40 minuets until the apples are soft, but not mushy

Homemade Skull shirt

Yesterday I came across an old shirt, and instead of just getting rid of it,  I decided a better thing to do would be to make it into something new. I cropped the front, and turned the back into a skull. You can really cut anything into the back of a shirt and make it looks awesome - this is just one example. Just in time for Halloween! Paired with high-waisted maroon pants from American Apparel, and little black flats from Urban Outfitters, or Steve Madden combat boots. I'll post a look with this shirt as soon as I wear it!

Coconut Shrimp

Last night I decided to make a batch of Coconut Shrimp. As it's my favourite appetizer whenever I eat out I thought I could homemake my favourite app! It's quite a simple recipe;
Combine 1/3 cup of all purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a small bowl. In another bowl crack two eggs, but just for the yoke. In a third bowl combine 1/3 a cup of bread crumbs, and 3/4 cup of flaked coconut.
Cut roughly 15 shrimp down the back but no not cut fully in half. Dip the shrimp in the flour mixture - covering them fully, then dip them in the egg, and then cover the shrimp in the breadcrumb-coconut mixture.
Once all the shrimp are coated fill the bottom of a frying pan with oil - on medium heat wait until it's hot (drop a few bread crumbs in and if they sizzle it's hot enough).
Then in place about 7 or 8 shrimp in the pan and wait about 4 minutes until shrimp are golden brown. make sure to flip them as they start to brown.
Serve hot with Thai sauce!
Coated, ready to be fried!

Fried and ready to be enjoyed!

Pink and Floral

A summer outfit from early september; High-waisted shorts matched with a flora half top, pink earning and white baby heals to compliment!

Thanksgiving cookies!

Over the Thanksgiving holiday my mom and I were hard at work making sugar cookies for me to bring back to school. As we were in the festive mood we made leaf and cat cookies in the fall and halloween spirt. The best part was the icing, a simple mix of milk and icing sugar makes an icing that not only tastes good, but it stays nice and moist on the cookie  - adding the best texture!

Studs

STUDS; Anything with studs is totally in right now. From collars to shoes, shorts, and even headbands - studs have made there way up to a recent trend! I have always admired girls with studded clothes - I think they give off a certain appeal of confidence. When I moved to Kingston I found a small boutique on high street called Agent 99. It was love at first slight. The first thing is saw when I walked into the store was this gem of a shirt - and of course as a student I couldn't afford it but I really loved it. As my friends 19th birthday soon approached, I though 'what a great excuse to buy a new shirt for her party' that's when I knew I had to buy it!

Homemade Bows

Homemade Hair Bow
THE BOW; a simple hair accessory that can really bring together an outfit! This bow is one I made myself, some simple hair clips, a hot glue gun, and for this bow I used blue velvet fabric and white lace ribbon. I find I wear my hair down and plain a lot of the time, but adding a simple bow really makes a difference. It can really add to and outfit, as well as making you look that little bit more put together and it only takes about a minuet to get it looking just right! This is one of many - more to come!

The beginning

As my first post, here's an idea of what my blog is about, and why I started a blog;

To start, I love sharing my experiences, and interests with others, and what better way then by blogging about them. I titled my blog Look good - feel good for the simple reason that I think the better you think you look personally, the better you'll feel! Whether that be maintaing the body type that you want, or dressing with your own style. The more confident you are with your look, the better you'll feel.
I have a love for fashion, (I swear I could spend all day putting outfits together), baking, and just making crafty things (ie. bows, rings . When I can find the time all I need is an idea to get me working.
As for food, I'm not a big foodie, but I love good and healthy food! Ever since I was young my mom had drilled the idea of eating organically into my head, and well it worked. I'm now living on my own, and eat as much organic food as I can. Local food markets are by far the best way to shop for fresh produce! (It may not always be organic. - but at least it's fresh)

A little bit about myself;

I'm a second year psychology student at Queens University. I started off my University career in England , and that is where I really developed a total love for fashion. Although I'm enrolled in an undergraduate program currently I plan to take some fashion courses when I graduate, and pursue a career in either fashion designing or a magazine. After I graduate my dream would be to land an internship at a fashion magazine, or even a simple designer! Teen vogue?!
